The Minneapolis North Loop area is perhaps the most notable center for Minneapolis food and drink culture. There is theater/live music, great food, and so much more to drink.

So, we asked our Craft Notes partner and expert to send us to some of his favorites nearby. Here are Steve’s recommendations we took in some of the North Loop’s best! Keep these in mind when you’re coming into the area and/or visiting Number 12 Cidery

Eat: North Loop’s Graze Food Hall

Graze Cafeteria (and Fabled Rooster)

📍 520 N 4th St, Minneapolis, MN 55401

If you’re coming in with a group of people, deciding on food can be hard. Enter the Graze food hall. The north loop has a ton of food and restaurant options (and Number 12 Cider also has a permanent pizza truck), but Steve recommended Graze. With six food vendors and two bars there is something for everyone and the service is quick and easy. These are becoming popular all over the city for a reason! We chose to eat at Fabled Rooster and the food did not disappoint!

Also found at Graze?

North Loop’s Hidden Gem: Cocktails!

Cobble Social House

📍 520 N 4th St, Minneapolis, MN 55401
📞 (612) 259-8965
🌐 grazenorthloop.menu

This one was a hidden gem recommendation from Steve. Cobble Social House sits in an alleyway and is really only distinguished by a symbol above the door. We didn’t have a reservation, so we just stopped in for drinks and dessert, but both were fabulous. You can get food here as well, but it is a limited menu. A small venue with a speakeasy type vibe this is for sure a don’t miss… if you can find it.

Other Recommendations

The Hewing Hotel is the best place to stay in the area. A quintessential north loop hotel recommendation that will make you feel oh so cool. A historic building renovated with modern touches it’s truly a luxury experience and the city views from the rooftop heated pool can’t be beat. The hotel is dog friendly (if your gang is really just your pooch) and the restaurant in the hotel is almost as highly rated as their rooftop cocktail bar (and if you’re staying, hot tub).

There is so much to do in the north loop! Number 12 is right down the road from Target Field (We could practically smell them installing the new grass as we sipped on our ciders…) and the Filmore which had a huge show and a line down the block that night. Steve also highly recommends taking in a show at Acme Comedy Co which hosts huge national acts as the norm. With so many options, maybe this needs to be a weeklong trip?
