What Do I get in a craft notes passport?
Each book includes 12-30 venues and experiences. You get 1 complimentary drink from each and every great brewery, distillery, cafe, and restaurant (tip not included). For specifics of what you get in each volume, please see our Shop>
Am I required to purchase anything to get my complimentary drink?
NO. – But you have to tip!
That’s the short answer anyway. If you have 1 drink, tip like you got a free drink. That said, Craft Notes customers are noted for being the best customers, so help sustain our program and support great local businesses by drinking up and having a ton of fun!
HOW DO I REDEEM MY DRINK?
Go to the venue, have a few drinks, and have fun! When the tab comes, show them your book. They’ll stamp it and take 1 drink off your tab.
Do I have to tip?
The venue is buying you a drink, gratuity is always appreciated for great service.
DOES MY FRIEND ALSO GET A COMP DRINK?
You will receive 1 drink PER PASSPORT, so if your friend has a book, they can get a drink and stamp at the same time you do. If they don’t? They don’t.
DO THE BOOKS EXPIRE?
EVENTUALLY. Drinks in our books will expire 12 months from purchase, however, we also offer prizes for completing your tour; prizes expire when next edition is out (Novemberish of the current year). So take your time and make it an adventure!
DO I GET ANYTHING FOR MY STAMP?
YES! Don’t forget to get your book stamped. It will show you had the drink, and if you’ve been to all of them (in active year) you’ll get some sweet prizes.
HOW MUCH IS A PASSPORT/VALUE?
All Standard edition Passports cost ~$25-35 and are designed to offer approximately $150-$250 worth of drinks. Special Edition Passports prices vary.

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS TO REDEEMING THE DRINKS?
Drinks offers are redeemable during normal business hours and normal staff.
Please note: Complimentary passport drinks may not be available during large or special events (especially those that rely on volunteer staff or charity events) as these staff are not trained to know Craft Notes.
ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS TO WHAT I CAN ORDER?
It should be listed in the guidebook, but generally speaking, you get 1 free, full-sized drink. Exceptions may include very pricey/rare items which would be offered at a lower cost. Then again, why not try what you really want then go for the Craftsman Recommendation as your comp?
DO I GET A COMPLIMENTARY DRINK EVERY TIME I GO THERE?
You get ONE complimentary drink. If you are looking for more, consider joining our Craft Drinks Social Club.
MN has amazing local craftsmen. Whether they are making great beers, spirits, food….WE ARE A CRAFT CULTURE. Craft Notes was designed to introduce you to some of the best.Everyone listed in Craft Notes is an exceptional local business which has been hand-selected to be in the guidebook for a reason. Either they initiated craft brewing (ie. Summit), are pushing the limits of local craft (ie. Dangerous Man), or have just supported the scene since it began (ie. Grumpy’s NE)…Point is: these people work hard to give MN a great name as a “beer state” and you need to check them out because you will love them.Craft Notes is designed to tell the story of local business. USE IT! You’ll not only learn about the roots of local culture, but if you’re ever bored, just open the book and go try a new place; YOU GET A FREE DRINK! You can keep notes, keep track of recipes or things to try next time.
LOVE THE ART. WHO IS THE DESIGNER?
Craft Notes is a 2-Color screen print done by local artist Keith Williams of GLDN. The craftsmen were chosen by Thrifty Hip.
